Position accumulation
Coins holding in a narrow price range while trading volume grows - a typical sign of a large player building a position in advance. A tool that shows potential pairs to look for setups ahead of time. Pairs well with the Volumes section.
About this section
This section shows coins that stay in a narrow price range for a long time while turnover grows. It is a typical sign that a position is being built in advance: a large participant cannot buy everything at once without moving price, so they buy gradually while holding price in place.
Two situations are distinguished. Accumulation before a move is a short pause of a few candles near an important level, when volatility drops almost to zero. An accumulation zone is a process lasting weeks, with money flowing into the coin while price does not rise.
The direction of the future move is unknown during accumulation - all that is known is that potential is building. Low volatility does not last, and such a pause is usually followed by a sharp move one way or the other.
What the bot looks for
Price stays in a very narrow range at an important level for several candles in a row. Accumulation of a position before a breakout.
Low volatility does not last long - such a pause is usually followed by a sharp move. The direction becomes clear from the exit out of the range.
Funds gradually flow into the coin over weeks while price stays put - a position is being built up in advance. There is no movement yet: this is a look ahead, before the start.
Price stays put while turnover grows - a frequent precursor of a future movement. The direction is unknown at this stage: the side will be confirmed by the exit from the range. This is a watchlist, not a command to buy.
Frequently asked questions
Price sits in a narrow corridor, candles are short, and volume does not fall or even grows. It looks like a boring stretch, which is exactly why it is often missed.
In an ordinary range both price and volume go quiet - the market is not interested. In accumulation price is flat but volume stays high: someone is building a position without letting price run.
During accumulation, no, and claiming otherwise would be dishonest. Hints appear later: which side the range breaks and whether the breakout is confirmed.
From several days to several weeks. A short pause at a level and a multi-week position build are different situations, and the section marks them separately.
